1744年に建てられた本殿は、日本で最も古い神社建築の形式である大社造りで、国宝に指定されている。
参拝方法が「二拝四拍一拝」と一般の神社と異なる。

Izumo-taisha is an ancient shrine comparable to Ise Jingu Shrine, and is well known as the god of marriage and the god of good fortune.
The main shrine, built in 1744, is designated as a national treasure in the Taisha-zukuri style, the oldest form of shrine architecture in Japan.
The method of worship differs from that of ordinary shrines, with “Ni-ai, shi-ai, shi-ai, shi-ai.
It is said to bring you all kinds of wonderful relationships☆.

【Access Information】
From Tamatsukuri Onsen Chiyono-yu, it takes about 1 hour by car to reach Izumo Taisha.
If traveling by train, take the JR from Tamatsukuri Onsen Station to Izumo-shi Station (approx. 40 minutes), then transfer to the Ichibata Bus for about 25 minutes to reach the shrine.
Why not take your time and enjoy the scenery of Shimane while you go for a historic shrine?
